Laguna is a manufacturer of high-quality sliding door systems and hardware based in Gdansk, Poland. Its offer includes complete building, furniture and other systems for special applications. The company's portfolio also includes the Anima Domus and Gustavson brands. Laguna's products are available on the Polish market and in more than 30 foreign markets. During its nearly 30 years on the market, Laguna is constantly looking for innovations and adapting its products to customers' needs.

The configurator created was to encourage users to use the client's products

The most important features that the system we prepared was to have were:

 

  • Online operation regardless of the type of device and without the need to install any software,
  • A continuously updated product database,
  • Projects prepared in the calculator ready for direct printing or saving as a pdf document and sending to e-mail address,
  • Providing information about the gross and net dimensions of the fillings in order to prepare the material with the appropriate dimensions and later adjust all the elements,
  • Calculator including different product systems: construction, furniture and aluminum
  • Configuration of selected solutions available in two paths. Adapted separately for those familiar with Laguna systems and for new customers.

Multiple products, system complexity, ease of use

The challenge we faced focused on the structure of the client's product portfolio. The Laguna product base that the project covered turned out to be extremely complex, with up to ten cavities in some 400 categories and final product variants. Each of the more than 1,200 individual elements, comprising 305 products (complete systems), was imported from the client's database and subjected by us to appropriate remodeling to enable its use in the configurator.

 

The proper assignment of each item in the database to other complementary products and entire solution systems was achieved by marking them with special tags. The use of about 200 individual tags made it possible for the configurator's filters to function correctly, and consequently for the system of products to be tailored to the user's needs. A dedicated PIM (Product Information Management) system was used to prepare the product database and model its structure, with which the user interface we prepared (HeadlessCMS) is connected via API.

 

Thanks to the technology used, we have created a solution that, despite the high complexity of the product database and the high complexity of the systems used, allows the final user to search for a complete set of products, exactly matching his needs, in just two steps. The calculator was tailored to users in terms of their knowledge of Laguna products. As a result, customers familiar with the systems searched can significantly save time in configuring a given solution, while new customers receive additional information and support in the proper selection of products for their needs.

Dedicated solutions to build customer loyalty

As a result, our client, Laguna, received a ready-made tool that, by providing high value to the user - a potential customer, increases its chances of acquiring new customers and building their loyalty based on a positive experience with the company. The prepared program has also been equipped with dedicated solutions, thanks to which the customer can easily adapt the configurator to possible product lines to be launched in the future. The high usability of the designed solutions is also combined with their accessibility thanks to the calculator's adaptation to four language versions.
